Annual General Meeting 2017
Every year, NTU Tamil Literary Society organises this Annual General Meeting to transfer the responsibilities of leadership from the previous committee to the incoming committee. This year, the responsibility was transferred from the 7th to 8th committee. First of all, our incoming 8th committee president, Rubaneshwaran S/O Gnanasubramaniam presented to us about the workplan ahead for the 8th committee. Then we presented awards to some dedicated individuals from the previous committee.
First of all we presented the Mahakavi Bharathiyaar award to Arun Vasudev Krishnan to our 7th NTU TLS president. Mahakavi Bharathiyaar was a great poet who has contributed greatly to Tamil Literature. Just like him, Arun Vasudev provided his dedicated service to the NTU Tamil Literary Society. He started off in 5th committee as a publication director. Then he took up the position of a chief editor in the 6th committee and finally became a president. Throughout his service, Arun has brought many meaningful changes to our society and has been a caring leader who led the path to the development of many other members.
Next, the Thiruvalluvar award was present to Thevarayan thiagarajan. Despite having difficulty speaking in Tamil, Rayan takes great initiative and tried to develop his literacy in Tamil. Furthermore, Rayan provided his dedicated service to Tamil Literary Society through whatever skills he had to contribute.
Then, the long service award was presented to all the members who have been part of the society for more than 3 years. The individuals who received the awards are:

ஒவ்வொரு வருடமும் எங்கள் NTU தமிழ் இலக்கிய மன்றத்தின் பல முயற்சிகளுக்கு தலைமை தாங்கி அதனை நல்லபடியாக நடத்தி செல்லும் பொறுப்பை அடுத்த செயற்குழுவிடம் ஒப்படைக்க இந்த வருடாந்திர பொது கூட்டணி நடத்தப்பட்டு வருகிறது. இம்மன்றத்துக்கு 7ஆம் செயற்குழு ஆற்றிய உதவி பெரிது. அதோடு அடுத்த சொற்சுழு உடன் வந்து ஆற்றவிருக்கும் சேவை மிகவும் அரிது. எனவே 7ஆம் செயற்குழுவின் பங்கை மனமார வாழ்த்தி, அடுத்த 8ஆம் செயற்குழுவை நாங்கள் இந்த கூட்டணியில் இரு கரம் கூப்பி வரவேற்றோம்.
முதலில் எங்கள் 8ஆம் செயற்குழுவின் தலைவர், இந்தப் புதிய ஆண்டில், மன்றத்தைச் சிறப்பாக நடத்தி செல்ல தானும் தன் சக தலைவர்களும் வகுத்த திட்டத்தைப் பகிர்ந்துகொண்டார். கடந்த ஆண்டு நமக்காகப் பாடுபட்டு உழைத்த 7ஆம் செயற்குழுவின் கடின உழைப்பையும் விடாமுயற்சியையும் கௌரவிக்கும் வகையில் பல விருதுகள் வழங்கப்பட்டன.
மகாகவி பாரதியார் விருது
இதில் ஒரு முக்கியமான விருது, எங்கள் 7ஆம் ஆண்டு மன்ற தலைவர் திரு அருண் வாசுதேவ் கிருஷ்ணன் அவர்களுக்கு வழங்கப்பட்ட மகாகவி பாரதி விருது. மகாகவி பாரதியார்' என்று கூறும்போது நமக்கு என்ன நினைவிற்கு வருகிறது? ஓங்கார ஒலிக்கும் அவரது தேனிசை தமிழ்!
இவ்வாண்டு மகாகவி பாரதியாரைப் போல் தமிழில் அதிக ஈடுபாட்டுடன் திகழும் நமது மன்றத்தின் முன்னாள் தலைவரான அருண் வாசுதேவ் கிருஷ்ணன் மகாகவி பாரதியார் விருதைப் பெறுகிறார். முதலாம் ஆண்டில் வெளியீடுத் தலைவராகத் தொடங்கி, பின்னர் தலைமை பதிப்பாசிரியராக முன்னேறி, இறுதியில், தமிழ் இலக்கிய மன்றத்தின் தலைவராக பொறுப்பேற்று, மன்றத்திற்குத் தொடர்ந்து மூன்று ஆண்டுகளாக தனது பொன்னானச் சேவையை ஆற்றி வந்தார்.
திருவள்ளுவர் விருது
பல ஆண்டுகளுக்கு முன்பு இயற்றப்பட்டாலும், இன்று வரை மக்களால் போற்றப்படும் அறிய நூல், திருக்குறள். இத்தகைய நூலை எழுதிய திருவள்ளுவரின் பெயர்கொண்டு இந்த விருது இந்த வருடம் ராயனுக்கு வழங்கப்பட்டது. தமிழ் இலக்கிய மன்றத்தில்,முதன்முதலாகச் சேர்ந்தபோது, தமிழில் அவ்வளவு புழக்கம் இல்லாவிட்டாலும், தனது சுய முயற்சியோடு தமிழிற்கும் மன்றத்திற்கும் தன்னால் முடிந்த சேவையை ஆற்றியிருக்கிறார்.
கரிகாலச் சோழ விருது
நாங்கள் எங்கள் மன்ற முன்னேற்றத்துக்காகவும் மக்களின் முன்னேற்றத்துக்காகவும் முக்கியமாக தமிழின் மேம்பாட்டுக்காகவும் பாடுபட்டு உழைத்த சில நல்ல உள்ளங்களுக்குக் கரிகால சோழ விருதை எங்கள் வருடாந்திர பொது கூட்டணியின் போது வழங்கி சிறப்பிப்போம்.

தமிழை இயல் இசை நாடகம் கூத்து என்று முத்தமிழாக வளர்த்த சிறந்த கலைஞர்களைப் பெருமைப்படுத்த நட்சத்திர கலை விருதை வழங்கினோம். இதில் இசைக்குழு, நடனக்குழு மற்றும் நாடக குழுவைச் சேர்ந்த தலைசிறந்த கலைஞர்களுக்கு விருது அளிக்கப்பட்டது. இவர்களே இந்த வருடம் இவ்விருதை வாங்கியவர்கள்:
