Annual General Meeting 2018

At 5.30pm on 8 September 2018, colours of the peacock started flooding in the Evans Lounge. It was the opening of the Nanyang Technological University, Tamil Literary Society’s Annual General Meeting. This meeting served as an excellent platform to appreciate and congratulate the members of the 8th committee of TLS while also welcoming the 9th committee. Various awards were presented to those who worked hard the previous year, to elevate the society to the state it is in now. 

 

Mahakavi Bharathiyaar award. Named after the legendary poet, mahakavi bharathiyar, this highest honorary award aimed to recognise the individual who has put in massive efforts and contributed tremendously for the society. It was presented to Rubaneshwaran S/O Gnanasubramaniam, who has been working for this society from day one of his university journey.

 

Thiruvalluvar award was presented to Mohammed Shareef, who showed tremendous passion for the language of tamil and worked hard to excel in his pronunciation and literacy in the language. 

 

Followed was the Karikala Chozha award which was presented to the following students. 

 

  1. Ghayathri Sondarajan

  2. Gopi Ramalingam

  3. Diviya Tharsini

  4. Kalaivani Murugappan

  5. Suganthi Periasamy

  6. Rubaneshwaran S/O Gnanasubramaniam

 

Cultural awards were presented to the following students: 

 

  1. Nithya Krishnan (Dance Wing)

  2. Akhilesh Dayal (Drama Wing)

  3. Nathish Vel (Writers Wing)

  4. Pradeep Kumar ( Band Wing)

 

Apart from recognising our TLS members from the 8th committee, AGM also served as a platform to welcome our new members. Our 9th president, Subbu, gave out certificates to our 9th main and sub committee members. 

 

Amidst all this appreciation, there was a great buffet dinner and variety of games for all to enjoy. Everyone left with their stomachs and hearts filled to the brim. The 8th Executive Committee members gave a speech each, recalling their wonderful memories in TLS and handed the baton over to the next executive committee.The new leaders of the society took over, and a new chapter for the society began yet again!

8 செப்டம்பர், மாலை வேளையில், 'எவன்ஸ்' சாலையில் இருக்கும் 'எவன்ஸ் லவுன்ஜ்'-இல் வெற்றிகரமாக நடந்தேறியது தமிழ் இலக்கிய மன்றத்தின் 9வது வருடாந்தர பொதுக்கூட்டணி.கடந்த ஆண்டின் செயற்குழு தங்கள் பணியைத் திறம்பட முடித்து கோலினையை அடுத்த செயற்குழுவுக்குக் கொடுப்பதற்காகவும், அதே வேளையில் நம் உறுப்பினர்கள் அனைவருடைய பங்களிப்பையும் அடையாளம் கண்டு கொள்ளும் விதத்திலும் ஆண்டுதோறும் இந்நிகழ்ச்சி நடத்தப்படுகிறது.

 

விருதுகள்

நம்முடைய இலக்கிய மன்றத்திற்காக கடந்த ஆண்டு பாடுபட்டு உழைத்த பல உறுப்பினர்களின் பங்களிப்பை அங்கீகரிக்கும் வகையில் அவர்களுக்கு  விருதுகள் வழங்கப்பட்டன. 

 

மகாகவி விருது -

மணிரத்தினம் படத்தில் நடிக்க எல்லா தகுதிகள் கொண்டுள்ள எங்களது மணி ரத்தினத்திற்கு இந்த ஆண்டு 'மகாகவி பாரதியார்' விருது மிக பெருமையுடன் வழங்கப்பட்டது . நடிப்பின் மேல் அவர் கொண்டிருந்த முடிவில்லாத காதல் அவரை 'NTU' தமிழ் இலக்கிய மன்றத்தில் ஒரு உறுப்பினராக சேர தூண்டிவிட்டது. ஆனால், அதை தொடர்ந்து மேற்குழுவில் செயலாளராக பொறுப்பேற்று மூன்றாம் வருடம் தலைவராகி எங்கள் மன்றத்துக்கு பெரும் சேவை ஆற்றியுள்ளார் ரூபனேஸ்வரன்!

 

தனது பாதையில் எவ்விதமான சவால்கள் நேரிட்டாலும், 'பல வேடிக்கை மனிதரைப் போலே- நான் வீழ்வேனென்று நினைத்தாயோ' என்ற பாரதியார் ஏற்றிய வரிகளுக்கேற்ப விடா முயற்சியுடன் எப்போதுமே செயல்பட்டதால், ரூபனேஸ்வரனுக்கு மதிப்புமிக்க 'மகாகவி பாரதியார்' விருது அளிக்கப்பட்டது. அவரது குடும்பத்தார் இக்கூட்டத்திற்கு வந்து சிறப்பு சேர்த்தது மட்டுமல்லாமல், இவ்விருதை அவர்களே ரூபனுக்கு அளித்து அனைவரையும் நெகிழ செய்தனர்.

 

திருவள்ளுவர் விருது - 

அயராமல் உழைத்து தமிழில் அதிகமான ஆர்வத்தைக் காட்டி, தன் உச்சரிப்பையும் புலமையையும் பெரிதளவில் மேம்படுத்திய முகமத் ஷரிஃப், திருவள்ளுவர் விருதை வென்றார்.  

 

கரிகால சோழ விருது - 

அதோடு, தமிழ் இலக்கிய மன்றத்துக்காக தொடர்ந்து மூன்று வருடங்களாகத் தங்களுடைய கடும் உழைப்பையும் நேரத்தையும் அளித்து, மன்றத்திற்காக தங்களையே அர்பணித்துக்கொண்ட  உறுப்பினர்களுக்குக் கரிகால சோழ விருது வழங்கப்பட்டது. 

 

இவர்களே இந்த வருடம் இவ்விருதை வாங்கியவர்கள்:

 

1. காயத்ரி சொந்தராஜன்

2. கோபி ராமலிங்கம்

3. திவ்யதர்ஷினி

4. கலைவாணி முருகப்பன்

5. சுகந்தி பெரியசாமி 

6. ரூபனேஸ்வரன் ஞானசுப்ரமணியம்

 

நட்சத்திர கலை விருதுகள் - 

 

1. நித்யா கிருஷ்ணன் - நடன பிரிவு

2. அகிலேஷ் தயால் - நாடக பிரிவு 

3. நிதீஷ் வேல் - எழுத்தாளர் பிரிவு

4. பிரதீப் குமார் - இசைப் பிரிவு 

 

8 வது நிர்வாகக் குழுவின் உறுப்பினர்களுக்கு ரூபன் சான்றிதழ்களை வழங்கி அவர்களின் சிறப்பான பங்களிப்புக்கு நன்றி தெரிவித்தார். 9வது நிர்வாக குழுவின் தலைவரான சுப்புவின் கரங்களால் இவ்வாண்டின் துணை குழு உறுப்பினர்கள் சான்றிதழ்களைப் பெற்றனர். 

 

இவ்வளவு பாராட்டு மழைக்கு நடுவில் உறுப்பினர்களுக்காக உணவும் விளையாட்டுகளும் ஏற்பாடு செய்யப்பட்டிருந்தன. வயிரும் மனமும் நிறைந்து புன்னகையுடன் இருந்தனர் அனைத்து உறுப்பினர்களும்.  

 

இறுதியாக, 8வது நிர்வாக குழுவின் உறுப்பினர்கள் ஒவ்வொருவராக உரையாற்றி தங்கள் பொறுப்பிலிருந்து விடைப்பெற்றனர். ‘இணைவோம் தமிழர்களாக, கைகோர்ப்போம் தமிழுக்காக' என்ற முழக்க வரியுடன் தங்கள் பொறுப்புகளைப் 9வது நிர்வாக குழு தொடங்கியது.
