Festival Of Lights 2017
This year NTU TLS celebrated Deepavali, the festival of lights with a grand cultural night show in conjunction with the Sikh Society, Student Affairs Office and Graduate Student Council.
On show day, crowd started gathering even before the show began. The drama wing led the whole show in a continuous plot that was especially captivating for the audience. The show began with a graceful “Kathak” dance, a traditional indian dance form. Then, the band wing gave a scintillating performance that mesmerized the audience. The emcees shared about our Tamil Culture and led a few activities such as the Payasam eating competition, Dancing competition and Saree tying competition. As a finale, our dance wing put up a spectacular folk dance performance that was very well appreciated by the audience.
Continuing from there, we had delicious food from Taste of India followed by a group Dhandiya dance that encouraged all the audience to join in. Subsequently, all of us joined together to take part in an exciting dance floor. Even individuals who did not know how to dance just gathered together and enjoyed the night. That was indeed a memorable, unforgettable evening for all of us NTU.
தமிழர் கலாச்சாரத்தில் ஒரு முக்கியமான பண்டிகைதான் தீபாவளி. எனவே தமிழ் இலக்கிய மன்ற உறுப்பினர்களான எங்களுக்கு இந்த தீபாவளி கொண்டாட்டம் ஒரு முக்கிய நிகழ்வு.
NTU தமிழ் இலக்கிய மன்றம், NTU சீக்கிய மன்றம் மற்றும் NTU பட்டதாரி மாணவர் கழகம் ஆகிய மூன்று அமைப்புகளும் ஒற்றுமையாக செயல்பட்டு இந்த ஒன்றிணைந்து தீபாவளி கலைநிகழ்ச்சி ஒன்றை ஏற்பாடு செய்தது. இதற்கு NTU பல்கலைக்கழக நிர்வாகமும் தனது இன்றியமையாத ஆதரவைத் தந்தது.
நிகழ்ச்சி நாளன்று, நிகழ்ச்சி தொடங்குவதற்கு முன்னரே கூட்டம் அரங்கம் முழுவதும் நிரம்பி வழிந்தது. நாடக குழுவினர் ஒரு கதையைபோல் ஒட்டுமொத்த நிகழ்ச்சியையும் சுவாரசியமாக நடத்தினர். முதலில் நலினமான கதக் நடனத்தைக்கொண்டு நிகழ்ச்சி தொடங்கியது. அதோடு, தங்களின் இன்னிசை குரல் மற்றும் மனம் மயக்கும் இசையைக்கொண்டு பார்வையாளர்களின் புலன்களுக்கு விருந்தளித்தனர் இசைக்குழுவினர். நிகழ்ச்சியை வழி நடத்திய நாடக குழுவினர் தமிழர் கலாச்சாரத்தைப் பற்றி பகிர்ந்துகொண்டது மட்டுமல்லாது பார்வையாளர்களுக்கான பாயசம் சாப்பிடும் போட்டி, நடனம் ஆடும் போட்டி போன்றவற்றை நடத்தி விருந்தினர்களை மகிழ்வித்தனர். குதூகலத்தின் உச்சக்கட்டமாக எங்களது நடனக்குழு மற்றொரு உற்சாகமான குத்தாட்டத்தைக்கொண்டு அரங்கத்தையே ஆடவைத்தது.
இதனை தொடர்ந்து Taste of India உணவகத்தின் சுவையான உணவு, பின் டாண்டியா ஆட்டம் என்று நிகழ்ச்சி ஒரு நிறைவுக்கு வந்தது. இல்லை இல்லை அதன் பின்புதான் நிகழ்ச்சியே களைகட்டியது! அதாங்க Dance floor தொடங்கியது! அதன் பிறகு கொண்டாட்டத்துக்கு அளவுண்டா? மாணவர்கள் அனைவரும் களைப்பு மறந்து, கவலைகள் மறந்து தங்கள் மனதோடு இணைந்த இந்திய பாடல்களுக்கு ஆட தொடங்கினர். அதில்கூட இவர்களின் ஒற்றுமையைக் காணமுடிந்தது! நண்பர்களாக, குடும்பமாக ஆடிய ஆட்டத்தையும் கொண்டாடிய இந்த இன்ப தீபாவாளியையும் மறக்க முடியுமா?
