Vaanga Pazhalagalaam 2018
Vanga Pazhagalam. Come, let’s bond. The first major TLS event of the year which welcomed every member of the Tamil community in NTU, from freshmen to alumni, to bond. For the young and the old to get to know each other, share their knowledge, and build relationships.
The day started off with the introduction of group leaders to their members. The theme for the event was a combination of Marvel Superheroes and Tamil Movies, which gave rise to group names like Captain Narasimma, Minnal Saamy and Scarlet Kokila.
The day went by quickly as the hosts of the event entertained us with their chemistry, comedy sketches, and witty jokes. Laughter echoed around the walls of the lecture theatre as friends performed their forfeits for the various games that were played. It did not feel like a lecture hall in a school. It was home.
After lunch, the amazing race began. Teams went their own ways to different stations, completing tasks to gain clues as to the whereabouts of the next station. This game served as a chance for the freshmen especially to learn more about the different locations in school. It also allowed TLS members to brainstorm together, solve Tamil riddles, and overcome obstacles as set out by the game masters at each station.
The race was brought to a graceful and energetic end with a water war. Teams had to protect their home base from and attack other bases with bags of water. Water was not wasted as it seeped into the fertile soil to be again, with mother nature. The players were completely drenched and but still smiling, for they knew. Some had lost the battle, but all had won the war.
The students returned to the Lecture Theatre to get changed and settled down to bid farewell to an eventful day of bonding and learning. Prizes were given away to the teams and photos were taken, and with that, the day came to an end. We may be a Tamil Literary Society, but as Henry David Thoreau has said, the language of friendship is not words, but meanings.
சிங்கப்பூரின் மூலை முடுக்குகளிலிருந்த நமது துடிப்பு மிக்க இந்திய இளைஞர்கள் பலரும் ஒரே இடத்தில் ஒரே நோக்கத்துடன் ஒன்று கூடினால் எப்படி இருக்கும்? சும்மா அதிரும் என்று அனைவரும் எதிர்பார்ப்பீர்கள் அல்லவா? ஆனால் அன்று நடந்தது அதுக்கும் மேல. நமது பிரபல தமிழ் நடிர்களின் தலைமையிலும், பிரபல ஆங்கில திரைப்பட "Avengers" நட்சத்திரங்களின் தலைமையிலும் மிகவும் உற்சாகத்துடன் துவங்கியது நம் NTU தமிழ் இலக்கிய மன்றத்தின் வாங்க பழகலாம் நிகழ்ச்சி . “Halk Eye” - ஆக நிஜாமுதீனும் "Black Widow” -ஆக தீர்த்தனாவும் நிகழ்ச்சியை தொடங்கி வைத்தனர். காலையில், அதுவும், சனிக்கிழமை காலையில் அனைவரும் பாதி எழுந்தும் எழாமலும் வந்திருப்பார்கள் என்று எதிர்பார்த்தால், அனைவரின் உற்சாகத்தையும் உட்கொள்ள அரங்கமே போதவில்லை என்று தான் சொல்ல வேண்டும்.
முதலில் ஒருவரை ஒருவர் அறிந்து கொள்ளாமல் எவ்வாறு போருக்கு தயாராக முடியும்? அதனால் முதல் படியாக அறிமுக விளையாட்டுகள் ஆரம்பமாயின. அதன் பின்னர், இரு துருவங்களாக இருந்த நமது விஜயகாந்த் - Captain America-வும், Thor - விக்ரமும், Hulk - சூர்யாவும், Scarlet Witch - கோலமாவு கோகிலாவும், ரஜினிகாந்த் - Black Panther இறுதியாக Wasp அக்காவும் ரோஸெமில்க் அக்காவும்(அட நம்ம சமந்தா தான்!) ஒவ்வொரு குழுவாக பிரிந்து இந்த அகில உலகை காப்பாற்ற உயிரை கொடுக்க துணிந்தார்கள் என்றால் மிகையல்ல. கேட்பதற்கே ஷங்கர் படத்தின் அடுத்த கதை கரு போல் உள்ளதல்லவா? நடந்ததும் அதுவே. ஒரு வழியாக வெயிலிலும் தண்ணீரிலும், சேற்றிலும் புல்லிலும் உருண்டு புரண்டு இவ்வுலகை வஞ்சகர்களிடமிருந்து வெற்றிகரமாக மீட்டெடுத்தனர் நமது சிங்கப்பூர் இளைஞர்கள்!
உலகை மீட்டெடுத்தது மட்டுமல்லாமல், ஒவ்வொருவரின் குணாதிசயங்களையும், விருப்பு வெறுப்புகளையும் நன்கு அறிந்து கொள்ளவும் ஒரு நல்ல சந்தர்பத்தை இது ஏற்படுத்தியது. இன்னும் பல நாட்கள் ஒன்றாக செயல் பட இருக்கும் பொழுது, ஒருவரை பற்றி ஒருவர் நன்கு அறிந்திருந்தால் மட்டுமே வர போகும் நாட்கள் வெற்றி பாதையை நோக்கி செல்ல முடியும். அதற்கு ஒரு அற்புதமான சந்தர்ப்பத்தை ஏற்படுத்தியது இந்த வாங்க பழகலாம். அன்று போர்க்களம் ஆனாலும், கலகலப்புகளுக்கு மட்டும் பஞ்சமில்லை என்று தான் கூற வேண்டும். வென்றாலும், தோற்றாலும், முயற்சி ஒன்றைமட்டும் கைவிடாமல் இறுதி வரை நமது குழுக்கள் அயராது போட்டியிட்டனர்.தோற்ற பொழுது கூட ஒரு வீரனுக்கே ஏற்ற புன்னகையுடன், ஒவ்வொரு விளையாட்டிலிருந்தும் விடைபெற்றனர். அவர்களின் இந்த மனப்பான்மமையே அன்று நடந்த நிகழ்வுகளின் முக்கிய பாகமாகும்.
போர் என்று வந்து விட்டால் வெற்றியாளர் என்பது இருக்கதானே செய்யும். அதே போல் அன்று நடந்த போரின் வெற்றியாளராக மகுடம் சூட்டப்பட்டது நமது ARUNATCHALLA அணிக்கே. அதன் பின்னர் மிகவும் களைப்புடன் இருந்தாலும் ஆரவாரத்துதுடன் இவ்வருட வாங்க பழகலாம் நிகழ்ச்சியை முடிவுக்கு கொண்டு வந்தனர் நமது தமிழ் Avengers. ஆதி உண்டு அந்தம் இல்லை என்ற முழக்கவரிக்கேற்ப இனிதே தொடங்கியது இவ்வருடத்திற்கான தமிழ் இளக்கிய மன்றத்தின் அடுத்த அத்தியாயம்.
