Festival Of Lights 2018
This year, NTU Tamil Literary Society collaborated with NTU Sikh Society and NTU Graduate Students’ Association. Through this event, we hoped to give the Indian NTU students an opportunity to celebrate this joyous event with their peers. Besides, we also wanted to give the non-indian students an opportunity to learn about Indian culture and the significance of Deepavali.
We began our day with a wide variety of booths in the NTU North Spine, Canopy K space. The booths we had include, Henna drawing booth, Carrom - game playing, Pallanguzhi and Food tasting. Through this, we gave students of other culture an opportunity to appreciate the Indian culture and the significance behind our practices. Furthermore, to make things even more engaging, we also conducted mini - competitions on eating some traditional Indian snacks like Payasam and Murukku.
Finally, in the evening, we had a cultural show which included Drama, Band and Dance performances by students part of all the 3 collaborating societies. The event was graced by our reputable Guest of Honour, Professor Subra Suresh, the NTU President.
One of the highlights of cultural showcase include the beatbox teaching segment. Moreover, the folk dance performance was so captivating that the audience called out, “Once more!”. Besides, some of the audience even stood up and started dancing during some of the next few performances that we had. The evening was indeed very eventful with all that dance and music.
இந்த வருடம் நாங்கள் NTU சிக்கிய மன்றம் மற்றும் பட்டதாரி மாணவர்கள் சங்கத்துடன் சேர்ந்து NTUவில் எங்கள் தீபாவளியை நடத்தினோம். NTU-வில் பயிலும் இந்திய மாணவர்கள் தீபாவளியை கொண்டாடுவதற்கு மட்டுமின்றி, இங்குள்ள மற்ற இன மாணவர்கள் நம் இந்திய கலாச்சாரம் மற்றும் நாம் தீபாவளி கொண்டாடுவதற்கான காரணத்தை அறியும் வகையில் நிகழ்ச்சியை நாங்கள் வழங்கினோம். காலை பத்து மணிக்கு விழா ஆரம்பித்தது.
மருதாணி வரைவது, கேரம் விளையாடுவது, இனிப்பு காரம் தின்பண்டங்கள் உண்பது, பல்லாங்குழி விளையாடுவது, போன்ற பல்வேறு நடவடிக்கைகள் செய்வதற்காக நாங்கள் எங்கள் தீபாவளி கண்காட்சியில் ஏற்பாடு செய்திருந்தோம். அதோடு, வேற்றின மாணவர்கள் கலந்துகொண்டு மகிழ பாயசம் மற்றும் முறுக்கு சாப்பிடும் போட்டிகளை நாங்கள் தயார் செய்திருந்தோம்.
மாலையில் எங்கள் கலைவிழா ஆரம்பித்தது. நாடகம், இசை மற்றும் நடனங்கள் உற்சாகம் ஊட்டும் வகையில் அமைந்தன. சிறப்பு விருந்தினராக NTU தலைவர் சுப்ரா சுரேஷும் இதில் கலந்து கொண்டது மாணவர்களுக்கு ஒரு உத்வேகமாய் இருந்தது. நம் மாணவர்கள் அரங்கேற்றிய ஒவ்வொரு நடனத்திற்கும் பாடலுக்கும், நிகழ்ச்சியை காண வந்த மாணவர்கள் மிகவும் உற்சாகமளித்து அவர்களும் முழுவதாய் அனுபவித்து மகிழ்ந்தனர்.
குறிப்பாக, எங்கள் மன்றத்தின் இசைக்குழு பார்வையாளர்கள் பங்கேற்று மகிழும்படி நடத்திய Beatbox அங்கம் அவர்களுக்கு தனி உற்சாகத்தை தந்தது. மேலும், எங்கள் நடன பிரிவை சேர்ந்த மாணவர்கள் ஆடிய குத்து நடனத்தை கண்டு திகைத்து போன பார்வையாளர்கள் மீண்டும் ஒருமுறை நடனத்தை காண வேண்டும் என்று கேட்டது தனி சிறப்பு.மேலும், மற்றொரு நடனத்தை கண்ட சில மாணவர்கள் எழுந்து நின்று உடன் சேர்ந்து ஆட தொடங்கினர். இப்படி ஆட்டமும் பாட்டமுமாய் அந்த நாள் மிகவும் சிறப்பாக முடிந்தது.
