பார்வை 2019 - மகரந்தங்களின் குரல் கேளீரோ!
As a testament to our identity as Tamil Literary Society, NTU TLS constantly tries to find ways to improve the reach of Tamil in our society and aspires to help people understand the importance of Tamil in our community. This was indeed the objective of Paarvai 2019. This year, we particularly focused on Singaporean Tamil Literature and its beauty. That is why we based our show on Vaigarai Pookal, a book by Mr Ma. Ilangkannan. This book was also translated into English and published as the book, Flowers by the Dawn.
This event by NTU TLS was split into 2 days. On the first day, we conducted a literary seminar for secondary school Tamil students. In this seminar, we presented the novel in the form of a simple comic strip so that students can easily understand the gist of this book and engage in a meaningful discussion based on that. Based on this, we had a line up of many activities like role play and writing a short story based on the content.
On the second day of our show, 10th March, we all gathered at Umar Pulavar Tamil Language Centre where we began with a play based on significant events in this story, Vaigarai Pookal. In this play, we also included a dance, singing and even poetry to better explain the story.
Followed by this, we had a really engaging forum discussion led by Mrs Elakeya Selvaraaji. We called some significant players in the Tamil Education and Arts field. In this discussion, they talked about what truly Singaporean Tamil Literature was and how all of us can do our part to contribute to this Tamil Literature scene. After a truly intense discussion which also involved the distinguished guests who came down, Mrs Elakeya beautifully concluded the forum saying that we should all start actively posting our Tamil literary works online and perhaps compile it using a hastag, #எங்கள்இலக்கியம் which means our literature.
Through this event, many teenagers and Tamil expats came together, discussed and kickstarted their journey towards improving Tamil. NTU TLS will continue its efforts to contribute to Tamil and Tamil community.
தமிழ் இலக்கிய மன்றம் என்ற எங்கள் அடையாளத்துக்கு சான்றாக தமிழ் இலக்கியத்தை மக்களிடம் கொண்டு போய் சேர்க்கவேண்டும்; அதன் முக்கியத்துவத்தை உணரவைக்கவேண்டும் என்பதே இந்த நிகழ்ச்சியின் குறிக்கோளாகும். இவ்வருடம், குறிப்பிட்டு சிங்கை உள்ளூர் தமிழ் இலக்கியத்தின் தொன்மை யாது என மக்களுக்கு புரியவைத்து அதை வளர்க்கவேண்டும் என்ற கடமை உணர்ச்சியை சிங்கை தமிழர்களுக்கு உணர்த்தவேண்டும் என்ற ஒரு வேட்கையோடு இந்நிகழ்ச்சியை தயார் செய்து, அதனை வெற்றிகரமாக நடத்தியது இந்த தமிழ் இலக்கிய மன்றம். இந்நிகழ்ச்சி மா. இளங்கண்ணன் அவர்கள் எழுதிய வைகறைப் பூக்கள் புத்தகத்தை மையமாக கொண்டு நடந்தேறியது.
இந்த நிகழ்ச்சியை இம்மன்றம் இரண்டு நாட்களாக பிரித்து வழங்கியது. முதல் நாள் உயர்நிலைப்பள்ளி மாணவர்களுக்கான இலக்கிய கருத்தரங்கு. அதில் வைகறைப் பூக்கள் நாவலை ஒரு கருத்து சித்திரத் துண்டு (Comic Strip) வடிவில் மன்ற உறுப்பினர்கள் தயாரித்து வழங்கினர். இதைப் படித்து புரிந்துகொண்ட மாணவர்கள் அதனை கருவாக கொண்டு பல நடவடிக்கைகளில் ஈடுபட்டனர். இதுபோன்ற நடவடிக்கைகள் மாணவர்களின் சிந்தனை ஆற்றலை வெகுவாக தூண்டியது. அதோடு இந்த நாவலை ஒரு கருத்து சித்திரத் துண்டு வடிவில் வழங்கியது கற்றலுக்கு பெரும் உதவியாக இருந்தது என்று பல மாணவர்கள் பகிர்ந்துகொண்டார்கள்.
இதனைத் தொடர்ந்து, இரண்டாம் நாள், மார்ச் மாதம், 10ஆம் தேதி அன்று உமறுப்புலவர் தமிழ் மொழி கற்றல் மையத்தின் அரங்கில் ஆறு மணிக்கு எங்கள் இரண்டாம் பாகம் தொடங்கியது. AKT Creations-ஐ சேர்ந்த திருமதி. ராணி கண்ணா கதைசொல்லியாக வந்து நிகழ்ச்சியை தொடங்கிவைத்தார். வைகறைப் பூக்கள் நாவலில் குறிப்பிட்ட சில சம்பவங்களை மாணவர்களின் பார்வையில் இந்த நாடகம் வழங்கியது. அதில் சில சம்பவங்கள் இசை, நடனம் மற்றும் கவிதையின் வாயிலாக வழங்கப்பட்டன.
இந்த நாடகத்தைத் தொடர்ந்து, திருமதி. இலக்கியா செல்வராஜியின் தலைமையில் சிங்கை தமிழ் இலக்கியம் என்ற தலைப்பில் ஒரு தீவிரமான குழு விவாதம் நடந்தேறியது. அதில், திரு. ஆனந்த கண்ணன், செல்வி ஹரிணி, முனைவர் ஜெகதீசன், ஆகியவர்கள் சிறப்பு பேச்சாளர்களாக பங்கேற்றனர். இதில் அரங்கத்தில் அமர்ந்திருந்த பல மரியாதைக்குரிய விருந்தினர்கள் தங்கள் கருத்துக்களை பகிர்ந்துகொண்டார்கள். ஒட்டுமொத்த அரங்கமே விறுவிறுப்பாக பங்கேற்ற இந்த விவாதத்தில் சிங்கை தமிழ் இலக்கியம் தொடர்ந்து வளர இனி #எங்கள்இலக்கியம் என்ற பிரச்சாரத்தை மேற்கொள்வோம் என முடித்து வைத்தார் திருமதி இலக்கியா.
இப்படி பலதரப்பட்ட இளைஞர்களும், தமிழ் அறிஞர்களும் இந்நிகழ்ச்சிக்கு வந்து, பேசி, தமிழ் இலக்கியத்தின் முன்னேற்றத்தை நோக்கிய ஒரு பயணத்தை தொடங்கிவைத்தனர். பார்வை 2019 - மகரந்தங்களின் குரல் கேளீரோ! - கேட்டுவிட்டோம்!
